Inside Sunidhi Chauhan's understated Mumbai home: Warm wood, soft neutrals and personal touches

Inside Sunidhi Chauhan
New Delhi:

Sunidhi Chauhan has spent decades giving Bollywood some of its most instantly recognisable songs. From "Kamli" in Dhoom 3 and "Crazy Kiya Re" in Dhoom 2 to "Sheila Ki Jawani", "Desi Girl", "Chhaliya", "Mehboob Mere" and "Be Intehaan", the singer has made a name for herself with a voice that can carry everything from high-energy dance tracks to more intense numbers.

As Sunidhi celebrates her 43rd birthday, it is worth taking a look at . The singer, who began performing at just four and rose to wider popularity with "Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi" from Mast in 1999, lives in a home that is much more understated than the larger-than-life image associated with many of her stage performances. Her 10-city I Am Home India Tour, which ran from December 2025 to March 2026, was also a major hit.

A home that keeps things warm and understated

Sunidhi's home came into the spotlight when Farah Khan visited the singer for an episode of Food With Farah around 10 months ago. The two happen to live in the same building, although it was Farah's first visit to Sunidhi's house.

The living room sets the tone for the rest of the home. Dark wood, wooden flooring and brick detailing sit alongside a large floor-to-ceiling window, while two cream-white sofas soften the look. The tufted leather cushions and additional leather seating give the room a slightly luxe feel without making it overly flashy.

A television unit sits opposite the seating area, with the dining space tucked behind it. The light wooden dining table is paired with leather-finish chairs, keeping the different parts of the room visually connected.

The lighting is perhaps what gives the interiors their relaxed feel. Concealed lights in the false ceiling and modern fixtures create a warm glow, while lighter showpieces stand out against the darker wood.

There is a little temple corner too

One of the more personal corners of the house is the wooden temple next to the dining area. Brown wood, small hanging bells and the idol give this part of the home a distinctly traditional feel.

Farah visited the singer during Ganesh Chaturthi, when the two offered prayers before the idol and received prasad before continuing with their visit.

It is a small detail, but it fits neatly into the otherwise contemporary home and adds a more personal touch to the space.

A separate spot for Sunidhi Chauhan's creative work

Sunidhi also has another space in the same building that is much more closely tied to her work. She uses it to practise choreography, get ready and sit down with her team for brainstorming sessions.

Part of the otherwise vacant space has been turned into a compact glam room. There is a dressing unit with a mirror and makeup lights, while a sofa sits directly opposite it.

Above the sofa, wooden shelves hold Sunidhi's awards and achievements, turning an otherwise functional work area into a small reminder of just how long her career has been.
