New Delhi:Weight loss tips flood social media every day, but not all of them deserve your attention. One post tells you to drink lemon water, another insists you need to sweat buckets, while countless others promise that a few ab exercises are all it takes to get rid of belly fat. With so much conflicting advice online, it can be difficult to know what's actually worth following.
Celebrity fitness coach Siddhartha Singh, who has trained actors including Tamannaah Bhatia, recently debunked some of the internet’s most popular fat loss myths in an Instagram video shared on June 28. He gave each claim a score out of 10 and explained which habits can really help with weight loss and which ones are far less effective than many people think.
Does lemon water melt belly fat?
Rating: 5/10“Lemon water is not a shortcut to fat loss,” says Siddhartha, “but it can still support healthier habits.”
Its biggest benefit, he says, is when it replaces sugary drinks. It may also help you feel fuller longer, helping you to control your calorie intake over time.

Do you need to sweat to burn fat?

Sweating doesn't correlate to how much fat you're burning, he says. It is just your body cooling itself down. "If sweating were a direct indicator of fat loss, then swimming - where you might barely even notice the sweat - would not be considered a good workout," he notes.
Can ab workouts burn belly fat?
Rating: 1/10"If you think you're going to trim your belly fat with crunches alone, you'll probably be disappointed," says Siddhartha.
He says fat loss happens all over the body, not in any one specific area. Abdominal exercises are great for strengthening and building your core muscles, but they won’t selectively burn fat from your belly. You can only see your abs by lowering your total body fat percentage through eating fewer calories than you burn, exercising regularly and sticking to healthy habits.

Should you aim for 10,000 steps every day?
Rating: 8/10Siddhartha strongly recommends the practice of walking between 8,000 and 10,000 steps a day, especially for people who spend most of their working day sitting.
But he says those steps work best when they are spread out throughout the day and not all done at once. Getting up and moving around during the day helps keep you active and limits long periods of inactivity.
10,000 steps a day. 8/10. 8-10k steps done daily is great especially if you have a sitting job because they can't be done in one go. You got to break it down and get a little bit of walking throughout the day keeping you active. Great way to feel less lazy and more active throughout the day.
