Shahid Kapoor's diet plan for Cocktail 2
“Protein is the cornerstone of every meal in Shahid’s diet,” says Kedia.
“Protein is prioritized in every meal,” Kedia said, adding that it is paired with strategic carbohydrates to provide energy and support his training. But the overall approach is the same whether the actor is trying to shed body fat or simply maintain his physique.
Shahid usually begins his day with chia seed water. Breakfast is usually vegetable uttapam with sambar and coconut chutney.
The lunch is based on a mixture of vegetables, millet or rice, and a protein such as paneer or lentil. “He loves his Indian lunches,” Kedia told the publication.
Meanwhile, for dinner, she often serves soup with a protein-packed wrap and sautéed vegetables to help support recovery and muscle repair.”
Kedia also busted the myth that to build muscle you need a diet heavy in meat.
“ Indian cuisine has wonderful sources of vegetarian proteins. “Carb-heavy meals can be easily turned into protein-packed options with the right modifications,” she said.
Some of the meals in Shahid’s plan include protein-rich khichdi with lentils, chickpea biryani with vegetable raita, and moong dal kebabs with aloo matar and rice.
All the meals are balanced to increase protein and fibre. The goal is never to make food feel restrictive or foreign. “Sustainability happens when nutrition fits culture and lifestyle,” she added.
Balanced eating beyond movie prep
“When Shahid is not preparing for a role, his eating habits become a little relaxed but the basic principles remain the same,” Kedia said.
He still practices mindful eating, but he also makes room for family meals and comfort food. Kedia says he doesn’t eat out very often and when he does he controls his portions.
His daily routine also involves clean protein powder and supplements like vitamin B12, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids and magnesium.
